5th Asia pacific youth Tchoukball championships 2018

“The Asia Pacific Youth Tchoukball Championships (APYTC)” is an international Tchoukball competition organized by the international association, known as the International Tchoukball Federation (FITB). It is a great honor because Malaysia has been chosen to host the competition this year. APYTC is one of the competitions that Tchoukball players are looking forward to as it only takes place once in every two years. The participants consist of Asia Pacific countries in 6 categories, namely M12 Boys, M12 Girls, M15 Boys, M15 Girls, M18 Boys and M18 Girls.

The competition was held on the 17 – 19 August 2019 in Educity Sports Complex, Johor. There were a total of 33 teams consisting 389 participants involved in this competition. Besides participants, there were also 22 referees, 25 referee candidates and 38 volunteers.

It was indeed out pleasure to have Mr. Fang Shen Szu (President of FITB), Mr. George Chou (President of Asia Pacific Tchoukball Federation), Mr. Chin Sin Sui (President of MTBA), Puan Wardah binti Hussin (Assistant Director of Department of Youth and Sports Johor), Encik Mohamad Faizal Bin Sarman (Head of Sports Unit of Department of Education Johor), Mr. Chris Huang ( Honory President of FITB), Encik Dzulkefly Ahmad (President of Housing and Rural Development Johor), Mr. Eric Lim Soon Yang (Vice president of Malaysia Christian Youth Association) and representatives from Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, Singapore and Chinese Taipei to officiate the Opening Ceremony.

The Closing Ceremony was graced by Mr. Fang Shen Szu (President of FITB), Mr. George Chou (President of Asia Pacific Tchoukball Federation), Mr. Chin Sin Sui (President of MTBA), Mr. Chris Huang ( Honory President of FITB), Mr. Delane Lim (President of Tchoukball Association of Tchoukball) and representatives from Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, Singapore and Chinese Taipei.

The Malaysia team has done very well in this competition, especially the M15 Boys team as they have defeated Singapore in the semi finals and won 2nd place of the category. M12 Girls and M15 Girls also got 3rd place or respective categories
